Reviews of Aberdeen Grove, Northcote

"Easily one of the best streets in Northcote..."

Aberdeen Grove is located in Northcote just a few streets off the border to North Fitzroy. The street is beautifully tree lined, is wide and boasts some beautifully preserved California Bungalow and Edwardian single and double fronted detached homes. Just off St Georges Road, it even has a milk bar on the corner to collect your morning paper and you can even slip out and purchase some milk when unexpected guest arrive without anyone noticing!

This street is extremely close to the 112 tram line which travels up St Georges Rd, Brunswick St, Collins St and ends in St Kilda.

Only a few hundred metres the other way, is Merri Station which is only 2 stops away from Clifton Hill on the Epping Line.

Close to Merri Station is High Street which features the bars, restaurants, medical services and the Northcote Town Hall upon Ruckers Hill. Down the hill is the very trendy Westgarth precinct which includes more shops, bars, beauty parlors and the Palace Cinemas.

Aberdeen Grove is a fantastically quiet street. A great place for couples, small families, retirees or for young professionals. There are usually always ample car spots available down the street. Gardens are tidy and houses are continually being maintained in contemporary period fashion as the street has a heritage frontage overlay.

Across the road on the other side of St Georges Road there is a huge open field including a baseball field and BBQ area and a children’s play area. Past the field there are loads of bike tracks and Merri Creek trails, so from a recreational perspective, there are heaps of outdoor activities to get involved in.

There are at least two primary schools, one public and one Catholic in walking distance from Aberdeen Grove. There is also Child Care facilities very close by.

Overall, Aberdeen Grove is a fantastic street to live it. Its proximity to the city is fantastic as well as the proximity to parks, restaurants and general services not to mention the public transport. You could easily move around without a car if you desire.
