Reviews of Abinger St, Richmond
"Convenient, but that's about all ..."
We lived on Abinger Street for a year. The convenience was great. You could walk nearly everywhere, public transport was readily available, great food, even better shopping.
The area was a bit pricey, but it seemed to be comparable to other inner city locations.
The parking was probably the worst I've seen. Tiny street that's very busy. We were rarely able to actually get a park on the street.
While we lived here, our daughter's bike got stolen off the front stoop (behind a locked gate), our umbrella was stolen off the front stoop, trash was thrown into our front courtyard by pedestrians on multiple occasions and our car was broken into (windows busted) twice. Both times reported to police who said that it was a very common occurrence in the area due to the high drug use.
There is a creche on the street which is quite good, but the street/location itself isn't really the best place for children.
