Reviews of Bangor, NSW

"Pleasant and bland"

Bangor - aside from the snide remarks about the name, no-one knows where this is.
Because there's nothing notable about it. It's a bland, pleasant, unremarkable place.
For excitement there's a trip to Westfield Miranda. Exotic dinner at Pete's Bangor Chinese,

I visit my brother there and even he just shrugs his shoulders when I ask him "why Bangor?"

Good luck to all the residents trying to talk up their location, but no-one is excited to live in Bangor.

Your comment a little bit negative for someone that doesnot live in the area I think. It is very safe area to live ,you can walk and jog outside without worry that you gonna get gun shot like Bankstown here. Also there are many bush tracks that you can ride bike or walk to Woronora River. There are IGA ,cafe, butcher, post office, nail spa, hair salon, car wash, bakery, medical center and great tavern here.
I know it is a bit far from city but there is express to city within 35 mins too.
I just want to let you know the fact before you give comment for what you not really know.
Thank you.

Some of Sydneys biggest Gangsters originate from 2234 and bangor has had 1 or 2 shootings itself lol so know your facts before you start talking about other suburbs. Menai is the one of the most beautiful areas in Sydney and perfect for familys and kids I rank it #3

"Nice quiet neighbourhood"

A nice quiet pocket of sydney that has been spared from the high rise overdevelopment that is taking place in other parts of the Shire Its elevated position means that part of the suburb enjoys sweeping views to the city

"God's Country- You Better Believe it !!"

Bangor is a leafy, laid-back suburb. Wide roads abound, this is just heaven after living in the inner-west . The community is second to none here, soo friendly and welcoming. We moved here as the kids go to Inaburra School, which is just amazing
Great Tavern and cafes
Bangor is certainly a hidden gem.

"Bush suburb"

I live on the eastern end of menai road and it’s great that you can ride your bike to Sutherland station , mostly on dedicated tracks -not road. Takes about 15mins. Otherwise the station is a few minutes drive and then 30minutes by train to the city. It’s a surprisingly convenient location. Apart from that it’s a suburb with quality houses compared to say Janalli and its not too built up.
There are quite a lot of schools , public, 2 catholic and inaburra private. The closest public high is menai or janalli.

Rentals in Bangor

"An undiscovered gem!"

Bangor is an up and coming leafy suburb in southern Sydney. It has a very relaxed feel to the place. There is nothing like coming home after a long day at work to the smell of the bush and the sounds of the birds. There are a lot of nature corridors and reserves in the area, which adds to the ambiance of the place.

Bangor is also convenient to the beach (a little over 20 minutes) and shopping at Westfield Miranda (10 minutes). Bangor was originally developed (mostly) in the 80’s, so most of the amenities are not so old. For example, all the power and electricity is underground and the schools are quite modern.

I love the place!

"We like it so much we live & work here"

One of the major attractions of Bangor is being almost surrounded by distinctively Australian bushland and the entire eastern border is formed by the Woronora River allowing many homes expansive water views.

Bangor is conducive to the great suburban lifestyle for families, offering substantial well constructed freestanding homes on good sized blocks. Many homes in Bangor’s tree lined streets offer large living areas and boast three or four bedrooms.

Bangor is also sought after for the outstanding educational opportunities, there are a number of long day childcare facilities catering to the nought to fives, Bangor Public School provides a curriculum for children from kindergarten to year six and offers before and after school care for those working parents. Bangor is also home to Inaburra School a prestigious independent school, which provides education from kindergarten to year 12.

Bangor offers a comprehensive shopping village, coffee shop, restaurants, post office, butcher, super market and lots more for you to enjoy.

Local and easy access to the water ways provide perfect spots for canoeing, kayaking and sailing. Bangor’s abundant bushland means locals have spaces to walk, run, cycle and enjoy family picnics. There are also two well-maintained local ovals; one on Akuna Avenue and another on Billa Road.

"Better value in Beautiful Bangor"

Bangor is a superb suburb for those who want the convenience of living in Sydney with the feeling of living a peaceful bush retreat lifestyle. Offering easy access to fantastic schools, it's own shopping centre and a hop skip and a jump to Sutherland train station this truely is a suburb that can offer it all.

Bush views and water views are offered from homes on generous blocks of land from an average of around 600m2 blocks to the rarer and highly sought 1100m2 suburban block. easy access to the Woronora River and recreation facilities.

expect to see your equity rise above the sydney average if your luck enough to buy here. It's way under valued for what it offers and that can't last for ever. More and more people on the Sutherland side of the Bridge are starting to find out about this graet little suburb.
