Reviews of Bardwell Valley, NSW

"Bardwell Valley NSW"

I have also recently bought in this area . You have the view of the parklands and great walking tracks, hidden behind the golf course. You discover a lot during lockdown, hidden gems. You are close to shops, schools and regular bus service. You can also walk to Arncliffe or Banksia station. Short driving distance to airport, Brighton beach and cafes and restaurant's This place has it all, great place to raise a family.

"A tiny hidden gem"

We just bought a house here recently (we honestly didn’t know it existed before that). The suburb is in between Arncliffe and Bexley with the valley on one side. It is close to Brighton le sands and other bay beaches. There is lots of potential in the suburb. Its close to the city and multiple train stations. The infrastructure is good. The valley is beautiful and lush. And if you can get something with a valley view you will be very lucky or even better many of the houses get a full city skyline view! No one knows where I live which is always interesting. But it is very affordable and the neighbourhood is nice with alot of old houses which are lovely and uniform. With the city about 20mins away on public transport its hard to believe this gem will be hidden for much longer! A solid investment in my opinion!

"Simply stunning and refreshing."

Great place to live and bring up a young family, the neighbours are friendly and always happy to engage in friendly conversations, or when going for walks, you are always greeted with a friendly smile by passerbys. what appeals to me most about Bardwell Valley is its value for money, for land size, proximity to city and beaches, especially when its compared to other suburbs in the inner west... Bardwell valley is also only 2 km away from Sydney airport yet it is not directly underneath the flight path, aviation noise is minimal, not even noticeable at times, and less of a nuisance than for people who live right under the flight path but many further KM's out. Another positive for Bardwell Valley, is that, it even though its located smack bang in the hustle and bustle of suburban Sydney, it is protected from allot of thoroughfare traffic due to the fact it is flanked by large nature reserves and large creeks.

Great for

  • Friendly neighbours
  • Abundance of various, native wildlife
  • Safe neighbourhood
  • Short car trip to all amenities
  • Close to transport
  • Close to airport yet not in flight path so minimal plane noise
  • Fresh air
  • Lush and green

Not great for

  • Dumping and litter

"A hidden gem in Sydney's South"

We moved to Bardwell Valley 3 years ago after renting in the city and Eastern Suburbs for the past 10 years, and love it!

The parklands are just beautiful and we often go for walks along the little creeks and over to cafes in nearby Bardwell Park and Earlwood. My daughter loves to play on the beach at Sans Souci which is a 15 minute drive away.

The property value for money is excellent compared to Tempe and Marrickville with no flight noise and a lot more privacy.

I disagree with comments about Arncliffe and Bardwell Valley being the same, to me there is a noticeable difference and as with every suburb there are good and bad streets. We often leave our front door open to let fresh air in and never had an issue around safety.

If you are looking for a house with garden and easy commute (~30 mins) to the city Bardwell Valley is perfect for you.

"The beautiful valley"

We bought a house about 5 years ago here in bardwell valley and absolutely love it! We moved here from Dulwich Hill in the inner west and couldn't be happier. it is surrounded by beautiful parklands and the creek. We love going for 'bush' walks after work or to the park to feed the ducks on the weekend. The air is fresh and we get many native birds in our backyard. It is also super quiet and peaceul. We are close to the airport yet this suburb is not directly under a flight path so plane noise is minmal and infrequent. I find all our neighbors are really friendly. People say hello when u go out for walks. We love the fact that you feel like you're somewhere else yet only 12 km from the city. Also close to the inner west. I also love that we are close to so many amenities. There is a very large new woolies at nearby wolli creek and lots of new restaurants opening there. I don't know why neighboring arncliffe gets such a bad rap. we frequently go there for local groceries which are half the price of the supermarkets and there are some great takeaway restaurants there. We have always found people to be really friendly and polite there. I feel very safe living here, much safer than in the inner west (which by the way has a higher crime rate than here). Anyway, bardwell valley is worth having a look at and I honestly can never imagine living anywhere else.

"Basically Arncliffe/Bexley"

Look up reviews of Arncliffe and Bexley as its the same suburb. Sometimes aircraft noise, goons in noisy cars, pocket of housing commission townhouses which have had police operations every now and again.
Have lived here over 21 years, have seen the deterioration of this suburb over the last 10 years or so. Would love to get out of here if we had the option.

Great for

  • Close to transport
  • Short car trip to all amenities

Not great for

  • Criminal activity
  • Car hoons
  • Disrespectful residents

"Hidden Hoon Treasure in St George"

Could be a great little suburb but the hoons destroy what it could be.
Surrounded with parks and streets that are populated by hoons and disrespectful young people.
It's Arncliffe, only the name changed so to give the properties around that area a lift.
I was lucky enough to get the hell out of there.
