"Handy"
Barkly St is a long busy street but with the 40km zone traffic is quiet. Restaurants, cafes, parks, schools nearby, Maribyrnong River - it has it all!

I'm sure there must have been different people living here when that last review was written. I've been there almost a year now and it's been fantastic! the location is amazing, there is hardly any noise (only two parties in the whole time I've been there and they were on saturdays and quietened down at about 1am)
most of the people in the building are really friendly, and the ones that aren't just seem to be people that keep to themselves, so it's not that they're unfriendly they're just not chatty. was helped by one of my neighbours the day i moved in and the building manager is always nice and helpful. there are only a few flats that seem to have dodgy people renting them but out of the hundred or so flats in the building i'd say you would get that anywhere, even in more expensive areas. the flats themselves are bigger than in any of the other new apartment buildings in the area and the same price(for now). I am definitely going to stay here for quite a while :)

"250 Barkly Street, Allegro Apartments, where all the noisy tenants go to live."
I must say on the surface this looked like a great apartment building to rent in, newish, big apartments, with a pool and gym and good security. How disappointed I was when I moved in and discovered the calibre of other residents living here.
The noise is out of control - loud music and parties 24x7, electric guitars at 2am. Generally really inconsiderate neighbours. Some of the residents are OK, but they are a minority and no doubt move out within 6mths of moving in. Some apartments would have up to four or five students living in them.
Then there is cleanliness.. I feel sorry for the building guy.. it seems like every week he's cleaning up someones vomit and rubbish from the common areas.
If you're a professional who values their downtime think twice about moving or investing here.
