Reviews of Bellevue Hill, NSW

"Bellevue Hill is an eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales"

Bellevue Hill is an eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.
Bellevue Hill is an affluent suburb, located 5 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Woollahra.

In the early 19th century, Irish-Australian immigrants referred to the area as Vinegar Hill, after the Battle of Vinegar Hill, an engagement during the 1798 uprising of the United Irishmen in south-east Ireland. Governor Lachlan Macquarie took great exception to this and decided to name the suburb Bellevue Hill, the belle vue meaning beautiful view

Population 10765 ( as per census 2011 )

Sport and Recreation

There are range of parks & sports clubs close by offering various types of recreations and sports

Miscellaneous Facts

There was a tram line to Bellevue Hill which opened in 1909

Gary, the Battle of Vinegar Hill was on the other side of the harbour. There's a memorial site at Rouse Hill. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Battle+Of+Vinegar+Hill+Memorial/@-33.6935008,150.648563,10z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x33dfd96fdccfa972!8m2!3d-33.6935008!4d150.9199596

"Great suburb"

Great cosy suburb which is mainly tree lined, close to beaches and city and one of the most expensive suburbs of Sydney. The likes of the Packer Family have lived close by.

"Beautiful Bellevue Hill"

Beautiful Bellevue Hill is an affluent residential suburb of Sydney, 5 kilometres east of the CBD in Woollahra Council. It has a population of about 9,200 of whom 22% are under 18 and 17% are over 60.

Many of the streets are tree lined and there is quite a large bushland area in Cooper Park. Dwellings are not cheap – you will not find many for sale under $2,000,000.

There is a large Jewish population in Bellevue Hill – nearly 25% of residents.

Bellevue Hill is home to two very prestigious boys’ private schools. They are Scots College, a Presbyterian school established in 1893 and the Cranbrook School, an Anglican school founded in 1918. There is also the Bellevue Hill Primary School of which my mother has very fond memories, having attended as a pupil.

There is a small shopping centre in the suburb but most people do their shopping in nearby Bondi Junction or Double Bay.

Bus transport is efficient and regular. It is just a short ride into the city or to surrounding shopping centres.

Should I have the opportunity and the money, Bellevue Hill would be my choice as the place in the eastern suburbs to live.

"Bellevue Hill - Leafy suburb for executives"

Bellevue Hill is located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and is borders by Bondi Junctions and Rose Bay. This suburb is a residential area and boasts some large homes, renovated older style units with larger rooms and high ceilings. The suburb has tree lined streets which give it a leafy appearance. Bellevue Hill is close to the major shopping centres of Bondi Junction, the boutique style Rose Bay with beautiful views of the harbour and great restaurants and minutes to Bondi Beach, golf courses bowls clubs. Tennis courts and squash court. All of this within easy reaches of the Sydney CBD. Home prices here are quite expensive and rental very much the same. Great place for people wanting to upscale.

Except for the "Bellevue Village" shops the suburb is entirely residential and well located to Westfields Bondi Junction, Double Bay and Bondi Beach.

There is strong demand for all types of properties and we have a ready made list of anxious buyers keen to get into the suburb. There is a good chance we have the perfect buyer for your home - give me a call 0413 441 333 to discuss further.
