Yes the Whitehorse Centre has some amazing live music and theater events running most weekends: http://www.whitehorsecentre.com.au/
There is also the Salvation Army Band which plays every Wednesday night near the train station: http://www.salvationarmy.org.au/en/Who-We-Are/music/Melbourne-Staff-Band/Contact/
