Bondi Beach, probably Sydney’s most famous suburb, is located 7 kilometres east of the CBD in the Eastern Suburbs and in the local government area of Waverley Council. It is bordered by North Bondi to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, Bondi Junction to the south and Woollahra and Bellevue Hill to the west. It has a population of about 10,200, 11% of whom are under 18 and 13% are over 60.

Housing in the suburb is a mix of single dwellings, and medium and high density apartments. The average price of real estate is $1.2 million.

Because of its world renown, tourists flock to Bondi Beach – especially in summer. Care needs to be taken when swimming as at the southern end there is a rip current. Other parts of the beach are reasonably safe. Bondi Beach has been included in the Australian National Heritage List.

Bondi Beach offers a wide variety of tourist accommodation – from backpackers, holiday apartments, hotels and motels.

The annual Sydney City to Surf Race finishes at Bondi Beach. It was the venue for the Beach Volleyball for the Sydney Olympics.

There is also the famous Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club, founded in 1929, when intrepid swimmers would brave the winter water temperatures. My grandfather was one of the original members. The Club is now a bit more civilised having a proper clubhouse and swimming pool.

Bondi Beach is a suburb located about 7 kilometres from the Sydney CBD. It is an incredible popular spot with tourists, largely because of its famous beach. It can be absolutely packed in summer, and maintains quite a steady crowd year round.

The residential areas of Bondi offer a range of housing options, from expensive and exclusive beachside properties, to townhouses, to apartment blocks. It really just depends on what kind of lifestyle you're looking for, how close you want to be to the sea, and of course your budget.

The area also has a number of shopping centres and restaurants, and is an easy commute to the CBD.

Bondi beach is famous for Bondi beach. Not only do many surfers come to this place for its waves, the beach volleyball event during the 2000 Sydney Olympics was held on this famous piece of sand too. Additionally, Bondi Beach is also home to the famou Bondi Market. This market is held every Sunday on the grounds of Bondi Public School. Often, you will be able to find second hand books, vintage clothing, designs from budding local designers and etc. The market is definitely the holy grail for many bargain hunters.

Summer is definitely the busiest time for this suburb with backpackers from all over the world flocking to enjoy the pristine water and Sydney siders coming to sun bake and escape from the heat. Getting into Bondi Beach during summer is an ordeal and the limited parking stations around the area does not make it pleasant for those who plan to drive there. Even when you can find parking, you will need to pay at least $4.40 per hour just to let your car sit there. Additionally, a typical journey from Bondi Junction to Bondi Beach should only take about ten minutes by car. This is not the case during Summer as the ten minutes drive can sometimes take up to forty-five minutes.
