Reviews of Bortfield Drive, Chiswick
"Quiet, Close to everything including ferry to City"
Bortfield Drive is deceptively quiet. As it's on a peninsula there's no through traffic unlike further down the road where it's over developed with the Meriton Apartments which are very noisy. There's a corner store/bottle shop, fish n chips, Italian plus it's the main interchange for buseses to the City and the City/Parramatta River Ferry is 2 minutes walk.
It's in a great spot, 5 minutes drive to Birkenhead Point, 10 minutes drive to Burwood Westfield and is well positioned to access both motorways within 15 minutes.
Bortfield Drive has ample street parking and neighbours look out for one another. The mix of people living on the peninsula is equally split between young professionals, young professionals with families and those nearing retirement. With access to Sydney Harbour across the road and a sea pool it's no wonder everyone wants to get in a rent/buy. Apartments hold their value well and will continue to increase as time passes. I lived there for 4 years and loved it.

"Unity city ..but nice!"
Chiswick is a little known suburb in Sydney's inner west, sandwiched between Drummoyne and Abbotsford/Five Dock. It is lovely - right on the Parramatta River. Bortfield Drive is right on the point at Chiswick - basically you go as far as you can towards the river and then Bortfield snakes back around to the main road in a one-way loop. I don't think there is a single house in this street - it is unit block after unit block, but all are pretty nice and the high rise only goes to about three or four floors. Despite the high-density housing it's a pretty quiet area and the surroundings are really pretty. There are nice paths where you can walk along the river. There are some convenient local shops and public transport is via ferry or bus.

Chiswick is what I'd consider hidden. I have grown up in the area and until a realestate agent showed me the place (which I purchased) I didn't even know it was there. There for making it a small suburb of sorenity.
I originally bought it as a place to live, although I am getting $420 a week rent which is forcing me to stay at my other Parramatta address.
I love it and for any prosective home buyers, I believe that unit prices in Chiswick are way undervalued in comparison to Abbotsford and Drummoyne. Meaning a really good buy by the water.
