Why are so many homes for sale in Bowen Mountain?

We get a lot of RAAF workers/ families up here, also older people selling up and moving north(I pass quiet a few older residents walking) & some people just don't like the travel involved in living this far out ,( if your kids have a job at Macca's it's a real pain to drive down the hill at midnight to pick them up , or they miss the bus in the afternoon)It has it's pro's & con's. And looking at RE.com today, listed are 44 properties in bowen mountain 12 of those are vacant land, so 32 odd out of approximately 520 houses.
