"A fantastic spot just a casual stroll from the CBD"

Bridge Road is a bustling shopping and cafe strip situated just two suburbs away from Melbourne's CBD. It is a great location - the CBD can be reached by hopping on one of the frequent trams or otherwise it's just a casual 20 minute stroll.

There are some really good rental bargains in this area, with some slightly dated townhouses and apartment blocks (many of which are very well-maintained) in the surrounding streets for great prices. It is possible to get on-street parking, although it can be difficult at times.

The best thing about this area is the casual charm of Bridge Road. There are some interesting shops, good coffee bars and a number of interesting cafes offering good organic food.

"Food, Fashion, Fun"

Bridge Rd Richmond is the best place in town to grab a bite to eat and go shopping on a Saturday afternoon. Don't drive, take the tram (number 48 goes right along there) or the train to Richmond station and spend an afternoon browsing the racks in some unique fashion stores or diving through some of the factory outlet bargains. The Country Road and Portmans outlets are by far the best for ladies clothes.

Bridge Road is one of the best places to experience Melbourne's cafe culture, find one of the cafe's with seats out on the street and order a coffee and biscotti and enjoy the busy atmosphere.

"Shop 'til you drop!"

Oh man, if you love shopping Bridge Road is definitely for you! Make sure your wallet is full and your shoes are comfy because you could easily spend a whole day walking up and down this street of stores and just as easily spend a small fortune. The stores are mainly geared at woman with places like Quick Brown Fox, which have more one of a kind stuff, and Sportsgirl, which is more of a chain store, but there is a lot of variety which is what I love so much about it. There are also several shoes stores where you can get a great bargain. With the shoes stores I will be sure to visit all of them before making a purchase as you will sometimes find the same style in a store just a few minutes down at a much cheaper price. My main problem is the parking. It is a nightmare almost anytime of the day so be prepared to circle around for a while looking for a spot.

"I admit it, I love this street"

Bridge road in Richmond is the kind of street you have a love hate relationship with. Similar to Chapel Street and Brunswick Street, Bridge Road in Richmond offers so much for everyone!

It has great shopping, great eating, and great atmosphere. There are a few gyms here as well, and a good food market. I highly recommend the Japenese Ramen Restaurant, and all night maccas :)

There are a few bars on Bridge Rd as well, my personal favorite is The Collection (i think there is a photo posted), and has many pubs to keep everyone happy. There is also a 24hour florist that has come in handy on many occasions!

On the downside, it has terrible traffic, is only 40kmph at certain times of the day (which is a good thing I suppose, but somehow just annoys me) and can feel a little dirty.

But at the end of the day, I fell like Bridge Road is an old friend. I've had alot of fun here, and would recommend it to anyone!
