"Affordable living, close to everything"

I've lived in Emerton now for 4 years, i moved here from Glebe inner west Sydney where i grew up. I love it out here it's affordable and close to everything. There is never any traffic and you are central to everything. Blacktown is 15-20 min drive, Penrith is about 20min drive and Mt Druitt Westfields is 5 min drive. Across the road from where i live is Emerton shops which has everything you need Woolworths, Go-Lo, 2 butchers, bakers, fruit & vege, newsagent, post office, chemist, bottle shops and the list goes on. There are plenty of parks and reserves to take kids or your dog to.

We don't have a problem with noise we sleep with our windows open on hot summer nights and only get woken by birds signing in the early hours of the morning, I just close the window and go straight back to sleep.

Our neighbours are very friendly & we look out for each other. We chat to our neighbours on a daily basis and we have never had a problem with any of them.

There are quite a few excellant pubs in the area that have quality food our favourites are Carosel Inn, The Village & Alroy Tavern they have excellant food and are very family friendly. I wish there were more places to eat out at though in Mt Druitt it's a shame there is plentiful supply of your fast food chains (which i hate) just not many quality resturants.

Like every area it has it's flaws and for me it's the lack of respect the younger generation show for the area, they grafitti on public property & destroy public property mostly bus shelters & bins, they are so stupid they don't realise they are destroying things they use. It's a shame because the majority of people in the area are hard working blue colour workers who take pride in their house & where they live.

The best thing about living in this area is that there is no traffic and it's affordable. You can live on one wage while raising your children, while paying off a house and car loan and still be able to eat out occasionally & go on holidays once a year. There is not many places in Sydney where you can do that.
