Reviews of Cardigan Street, St Kilda East
"Quiet, one way street in a perfect suburb"
Cardigan Street is a lovely one way street. I've lived here for 2 years after moving from the North West suburbs. I love the feel of the area especially Cardigan Street. It's just so close to everything. It's perfect for those who don't like to drive often, easy walking distance to the Carlisle street shops which feature Coles, Woolworths (next door to each other), hairdressers, about 15 cafes. Public transport is suburb, with the 219/216 bus driving past Hotham Street (cnr Cardigan) and heading straight into the city. You've got the tram on Dandenong Road, and the train a short 10 minute walk in Carlisle Street. Cardigan Street itself is full of 3 level units, but it's actually very quiet. A one way street and ample off street parking helps with this. There's the Inkerman street shops which are just around the corner, the Inkerman Hotel, Harro's pizza and a milk bar. You can easily get Foxtel and high speed broadband internet. It's just a perfect suburb to live in!

"Cardigan St - Off a main road but close enough to walk to everything"
It's a quiet one way street that is mostly filled with apartment blocks. Parking never seems to be an issue in the street and there are no restrictions. The street is mostly occupied by young couples, singles the odd dog and a few families. It is close enough to walk to Balaclava station and there is a bus at the end of the street that goes right to the city. Trams are also close by on Dandenong Rd or for the fit, there are bike lanes to get you around. It is just far enough away from the Carlisle st hub to be quiet but just in reach to walk there and be right in it. A great street and i love living here.
