Reviews of Clive Steele Avenue, Monash

"Best suburb in Tuggeranong!"

Clive Steele Ave is the main street running through Monash. I grew up on a street just off Clive Steele Ave, and I loved it so much I plan to move back there some day. The street is only busy for about an hour in the morning, and an hour in the evening. Apart from that, and the occasional bus, it's very tranquil. There are three bus routes which run along the street, and all of them will take you to the local major shopping centres of Tuggeranong, Woden and Erindale. Tuggeranong and Woden both have a wide variety of restaraunts, shops and facilities, including doctors, specialty shops, and pubs/clubs. The local Vikings club at Erindale is a great place to be on a Thurs, Fri and Sat night, and is only a short walk from Clive Steele Ave. No need for a taxi when you live here!!

There are also plenty of parks and open parkland surrounding Monash, so it is a great, safe place to let your kids play. The local Monash shops, although slightly more expensive than Coles or Woolies, have all the basic needs, and is only a five minute walk from Clive Steele Avenue. There is also a Chinese take away (good for when your feeling lazy), a hair salon, and a vet, which was once a doctors surgery.

The houses in Monash are a mixture of new, modern homes, and homes which were built in the 1980's and 1990's, many of which have been renovated. There is some commission housing in this suburb, however it is limited to about 4 or 5 streets, and for the most part, these houses are very neat and tidy in comparison to others in the Tugegranong area. Most houses in Monash have landscaped gardens, and the people are very friendly. You will often have strangers saying 'hello' to you as you walk past them on the footpaths, or bikepaths, which run throughout the suburb.

Overall it is a wonderful place to live, and it is hard to find a more central location to live in Tuggeranong than Monash. I would recommend having a drive around if your keen to buy in this area.
