"Newly Constructed Family Park"

There is a Park directly behind Colyton Shops on Day Street, it looks beautiful. It is in the perfect location and offers a lot for the kids especially after School, be sure to check it out.

"Family Friendly Area"

I live in the Penrith Area and work in Colyton, the people that you bump into at the Local Shops are lovely and always willing to help.

"Decent place in Sydney's far west (beyond Cumberland and inner west) but aircraft noise could become an issue"

Colyton is a primarily residential area, with very few major distributors running through. It is idyllic for family living, being very family oriented with many centres in neighbouring suburbs being rich with amenities. The atmosphere is rather tranquil compared to the near hotspots of Blacktown, Penrith and Parramatta, so definitely somewhere to consider if you don't mind the aircraft noise that may be induced as a consequence of development of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

"Great place for young families"

I grew up in Colyton from the age of 9 and lived there till I was 26. My elderly parents still reside there and my siblings and I still visit the family home. We all live close by and I live in Penrith now. We all went on to further education through university despite going to local public schools. Yes the area has become busier over time mainly due to developments and infrastructure. I’ve personally renovated two older style homes which are now rented out. Colyton is a great area to invest for the future due to the size of the blocks and everything is close by with motorways, universities and tafes, health facilities etc. Colyton will always be home to me.

"Cost saver"

I have lived in Colyton since 99. It's a great area overall. Family orientated and people are friendly, great for sports, schools are close, shops are close in every direction and same with public transport. Close to M4 or M7 plus there's alot of infrastructure and employment You dont need to go far to get virtually anything you need and general living cost in the area is cheaper. I have saved at least 20k in the time I have lived here in comparison to somebody that lives in St Ives. I am a grown man and i feel safe anytime or day walking the streets. I hardly lock my house and car and have never experienced theft. I have lived in Baulkham Hills and Parramatta and i find Colyton more safer going on my own personal life experiences. Yes bad things have happened in Colyton but they happen in every suburb in Sydney. Drug uses in every suburb in Sydney and if you think Colyton has more drugs, uses and dealers compared to ex Inner city, Eastern suburbs, Northern Suburbs your a fool. I have read other peoples comments and you all have the wrong perception of Mt Druitt. Its the far back suburbs of Mt Druitt which is struggle street which is actually closer to newer estates like Plumpton or Ropes Crossing or even suburbs on Richmond road and is all apart of the Blacktown Council where Colyton is apart of Penrith Valley Council. I accept peoples opinions and there experience but we all see and accept social living standards and behaviours different. The stats will be correct from real people living in area for a substantial amount of time and would be more of a correct description. It's all about standard of living. If you like living the Bondi life with glitz n money, gourmet side walk metro cafes with rich people and pricey scarfs around there necks well Colyton is not for you but if you live and can live in Colyton you could live anywhere just about.

Great for

  • Where else in the world can you get a Hamburger snack pack for $5.50 with a can of coke.
  • Schools, public transport, roads, employment
  • Sporty family orientated area

Not great for

  • To bloody hot in summer and cold in winter

"Affordable and quiet, a great place to start out..."

Been in Colyton for 9 years now, bought my first house there, and have loved it since. I would recommend living there for new home buyers, aged and also small starting out families...Schools and shops are close by with great public transport options close by.

"A happy & content resident"

I have only lived in the area for 8 months after moving from Minchinbury. It was the best decision I have made. I have noticed that there is no graffiti in the area or groups of kids walking the streets late at night asking for trouble.
It is such a quiet area & the people are so friendly & reserved. I highly recommend Colyton to anyone, young or old.
I'm not sure what planet other people have come from to disagree but, each to their own I guess.
Who cares if it's near Mt Druitt, it's what you make of it that counts.
