Is there bush fire risk in Donvale?

We are looking to relocate to SE Melbourne with young children. Being able to play outdoors and enjoy the big open space is a key consideration. But we are also concerned about bush fires. With young children, it is just that much more difficult to evacuate.

Donvale offers a combination of properties in dwelling size and land size. Family homes vary from 650m2 up to acreage (1 acre to 5 acres) in land size.
Any property requires maintenance, being lawn mowing, gutter clearing, tree lopping, garden pruning. I work and live in Donvale and love it. Plenty of open space and fresh air, but also very conveniently located to all amenities. The roads are good, and there's nothing to be concerned about.

Make sure you get your properties cleaned and gardens cut back to be safer. See Green Thoughts Gardening on the www

Donvale is a beautiful area Panda88. I lived in Templestowe and Doncaster and never really thought of Donvale as being a bush fire hazard. It is more 'green' than the suburbs around that area, but I wouldn't let that affect your decision - it's not exactly 'country'. Go for it!
