I think the old saying of what to look for in terms of buying real estate "location, location, location", sums up Downshire Road perfectly. There is a tram at the end of the road which will take you to St Kilda Beach for a swim, a train station within about 700m to take you to the city and a bus one street away to take you to Chadstone for a bit of major mall shopping. Of course, if you prefer you could always venture to Nepean Highway to head up the coast or Dandenong Road into the city by car. The street is very quiet due to traffic not being permitted to turn into the street from Glenhuntly Road, so it's also safe for kids and pets.
