Reviews of Elesbury Avenue, Brunswick East

"Central location with great transport access and friendly neighbourhood"

I have lived in Elesbury Avenue for about 4 1/2 years with my husband, and we just love it.

The location is just fantastic, with easy access to just about everything! I am a regular public transport commuter as we have so many options - we have 2 tram lines within only a few minutes walk (Nicholson St & Lygon St). There is also a bus stop right at the end of the street (Moonee Ponds/ Alphington route) which also stops at the Brunswick train station. It is also an easy stroll to many great shops, bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

As a dog owner we love that we have Fleming Park oval just accross the street, where we have meet so many friendly neighbours which we see on almost a daily basis. The local vet also organise monthly meet-ups for all the dog owners to get together and enjoy a few drinks. Just up the road we have Merri Creek river trail which is great for walking the dog or going for a ride.

One of the things that always seems to suprise our visitors from the country is just how quiet it is - even though we are so close to main roads and trams, somehow Elesbury seems to be blocked out from the noise... they often think they've woken up in the country! The street itself has little through traffic, so this is a big help.

Lastly, the houses are so low maintenance that we don't even own a lawn mower! One of the neighbours at the end of the street takes care of the nature strip for everyone... I just get to enjoy taking care of my little garden :)

"Nice street if it werent for the neighbours."

we have been living here for about 3 years now, and the house size and proximity to the CBD and public transport are the only thing keeping us here. The houses are lovely, but they are all the same, the walls are thin so you hear the neighbors pretty clearly, and anything said in the carport (backyard) echos across the whole street.

originally it was a family street, lots of young families with kids which was great, but over a year, most of those families moved on due to rent going up, and all of the lovely 3 bedroom 2 bathroom townhouses have been filled with students in share accommodation. Every Friday and Saturday night there is some noisy party going on until at least 2, generally ended by one of the remaining families complaining.

not impressed. however, if the young families were to buy again in this street, it would again become a harmonious street with a great neighbourhood vibe!
