"Emu plains is a Fantastic place to live, safe, and a very good area to bring up a family. Lived here for twenty years"
Emu plains is a fantastic area to live and to buy a home, it really is a sort after in the Penrith district to live and buy, it is very close to Penrith shopping too with easy access to fast trains to the city. I have lived in emu plains for twenty years and work in the city and I have never been more happy living here. Before emu plains I lived in Eastwood near the city and I can tell you now emu plains is a much safer area to live, even though The emu plains property prices are on the way up l would still pay the same price they are asking in the city just to live in emu plains. so close to glenbrook and mountains for many picnics and walks, the river walk at emu plains is just fantastic for families and fitness people, my kids while young use to go down to the river and fish and always catch something, mullet, carp and sometimes trout and always had a great time by the river on the family row boat. I won't be selling anytime in the near future this is my home and I am very happy here.

"Thomo"
Lived in emu plains for only 9 months now, although lived in North cranebrook and south Penrith for twenty years. i have been to emu plains quite a bit through the years and thought it would be nice to buy a home and live in emu plains one day, well anyway Am I happier living in emu plains, not really..why! Well I will tell you why it is a quite sort of area and feels quite safe in most parts I must admit, but to me it seems a lonely sort of place with nothing to do but to travel to the shopping centre and battle your way through a strange assortment of people of all kinds, elderly, young and disorientated, and your middle class, and your guaranteed family of gronks? I don't know why but it does, a lot of older people and a lot of older homes too. Emu plains feels to me such an out dated area with a good woollies and Aldies and miles down the road you have one Irish pub. If you had no shops in emu plain you would be pissed at the pub most of the time playing pokies, what would be the point of living in emu plains if we had no shops because I don't drink or play pokies so what would I do? Probably live in Penrith plaza most of the time, You can still reach the river on the other side. Sorry to you all but I do really think emu plains is way over priced and way overrated and for the price tag you would think that your living in castle hill or Dural etc etc nice qiuite area but I don't know????? Not for the price tag it's ridiculous that's for sure.

"Family Friendly"
I was a child raised in Emu Plains. I also spent my first years living out of home in the area. It is a very family oriented suburb, tucked neatly at the foot of the blue mountains. The river and the parks are great to walk, play and picnic in. There is a selection of public and private schools to choose from. The shopping facilities are basic, but adequate for stocking up the pantry. I felt pretty safe there as a kid, and also as a young adult. O'Donoghue's is about the only venue slightly resembling nightlife, so if you want to party then get out of there. I remember the Thai Restaurant near the river being quite delicious. I hear word that these days there's also a few niche coffee and chocolate shops popping up on Bathurst road that cater to a fancy palate. I've tried the coffee on a recent visit and it was very nice. The only con I can remember was trying to get home from work in Penrith everyday. It was often a choice of a) bottle neck on the M4 or b) bottleneck on the Great Western Highway bridge.

"Emu Plains - beautiful spot near river and mountains."
Emu Plains is in western Sydney on the banks of the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Emus Plains is basically a residential area with good quality homes. There is a good shopping centre called Centro Lennox and there are a number of very good schools. Sports facilities are great in this area with many playing fields, a beautiful golf course, swimming, Little Athletics etc. There are plenty of accommodations options including hotel and motels and the Emu Plains Caravan Park. Emu Plains, being on the western side of the Nepean River is only a short drive across the bridge to all the amenities of Penrith including the Penrith Panthers World of Entertainment.
