The pie floater - a meat pie floating or submerged in a bowl of pea soup - has been an icon of Adelaide since the 1870s!
There used to be 13 pie carts along King William street and North Terrace. The last one outside the Adelaide Railway station closed a number of years ago.
There are only 2 or 3 bakeries still selling them. Villies cafe is one of them.

Probably my house :) - not many people are familiar with them in Adelaide.
However, I reckon the Bakery at Flaggie would be more than willing to 'give it a go'.

You will find that all the born and bred locals do know about them!
