Rental vacancies

Thinking of Forster as a possible sea change destination for our family. We would rent before buying. Is it hard to get a rental in the area or does the demand exceed the supply of available properties?

When we lived there, yes it did - by a long shot. Pretty sure not much has changed. If you're looking at a unit, you'll be fine, but houses are more difficult to come by. I would spend a weekend in Forster and go and visit all the real estates (there's only about 7), introduce yourselves and get to know the property managers and ask to be kept informed of any upcoming rentals.

You're wise to rent first. We didn't and houses are difficult to sell, especially if you no longer live in the town.
