Do we have to worry about what other people say about living in Frankston such as drugs/violence?

Have lived in Frankston South for 15 years and have never had any problems. It is a great place to live and bring up kids. Both our daughters went to Derinya ps and can highly recommend it. Overport ps has a great reputation too. You won't regret moving down here.
We moved to FS recently, and we don't spend much time in Frankston hub unless it's the beach or Bayside during the day. I love FS, people are friendly and respectful. I was also worried but I've been pleasantly surprised by everyone I've met. And the people who everyone is referring to, are just in need of some help :-)
Frankston South is an entirely different suburb attracting a better socio-economic group of residents
We moved to Frankston South about 8 years ago from Port Melbourne when we were expecting our first child. We have loved living in the area, particularly now that we have transferred to jobs closer by. The train station can be a bit funny, but even since we have moved have noticed real improvements there esp since PSOs are there at night. Overall I think it's a nice place to live and I must say that Derinya Primary is a fantastic school if you are zoned to that school. We have two children there and they love it.
