Not really, depending on where you were you could walk to Lake Monger of Herdsman. Even living close to them is not waterfront in the real sense of the word. In my opinion the areas around the lakes are too open and not developed in a nice manner - just green fields really and even walking around the lake is not really tht nice compared to some of the smaller lakes around Perth where trees have been planted and the area is more attractive.
