Glenhaven, NSW 2156

We have lived in Glenhaven for almost a decade and it is definitely the best suburb in the hills district. Not well known as it is a small suburb neighbouring Castle hill. However, those in the know usually choose the tree lined streets of Glenhaven. As more people learn about Glenhaven prices will exceed those of Castle hill because we have all the amenities of Castle hill at out fingertips with out the hustle and bustle, tall apartment blocks etc

Clean, quite and calm. A place to call home with heavenly surroundings:)

Best in the Hills District! This has Lots of Parks, Reserves & Trees. With Plenty of Schools around & close to Castle Towers Shopping Centre! This would be Magnificent to live in!

Glenhaven is a small, relatively unknown suburb, especially to those from outside the Hills District. However that is not to say it should be overlooked.

Having lived in my street since the house was built in 1984, there is nothing untoward to report. The neighbours are friendly, lots of peace and privacy and plenty of greenery and bushland around to help relax.

Glenhaven is almost all residential, with larger acreage blocks towards the Dural (northern) side of the suburb. There is a small local shopping complex on Glenhaven Road and Castle Towers is only a 10 minute drive away. There is also a Woolworths and Aldi supermarket at Round Corner, Dural, again about 10 minutes away.

Public transport isn't the best, with buses infrequently servicing the suburb, however Castle Hill and Dural both offer city bus services which are frequent and reliable.

Most streets have a park or some green space within walking distance, which is great for those with children and there are many public and private schools nearby. There are also many retirement villages in the suburb, suggesting its popularity with retirees.

I have also noticed a lot of the older houses being renovated, which is a good sign that people want to buy and stay in the area.

Another thing I have to say about the area is the views across Sydney to the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands, especially from the top of the hill at Old Northern, Glenhaven, Fullers and Gilbert Roads. They are quite impressive and to those from outside the area, quite unexpected.

Overall, Glenhaven should definitely be high on the list for those who want to live in a peaceful and relaxed suburb in the Hills District.

Lovely pocket close to great shopping, parks, fresh air, tranquility. It's a great place to bring up children, with a spoilt choice of public and private schools. Lots of activities for children to take part.

The semi-rural suburb of Glenhaven is located 32 kilometres north west of Sydney’s CBD in the Hills Shire and it is part of the Hills District. It has a population of just over 5,500 of whom nearly 30% are under 18.

This is a very picturesque suburb with views to the Blue Mountains. The air is clean and fresh with lots of trees. The houses are on small rural blocks – up to five acres – or on typical suburban house blocks.

There is a small local shopping centre – where your goods are carried to your car for you – a rarity these days! However, if larger shops are needed Dural and Castle Hill are not very far away.

The schools in Glenhaven are the Glenhaven Primary School, and the Lorien Novalis School – a Rudolf Steiner School. Most high school children would have to travel to neighbouring suburbs for school.

There are two retirement villages – Glenhaven Green on The Old Northern Road, and Living Choice Glenhaven on Glenhaven Road. Glenhaven would be an idyllic place to retire with its peace and quiet.

One drawback of living in Glenhaven and working in the city would be the travel – the roads in the area become very congested during peak hours. But think of the serenity awaiting you when you get home every evening!

Glenhaven is pure suburbia, just north of Castle Hill. It is about an hours' drive to the CBD or a thirty minutes' drive to Parramatta. The quickest way to get around here is by car and only a handful of buses service this area.

All the houses are obviously very new with beautiful staircases and paint jobs. Many of the families who live here are middle income and property prices here just slightly cheaper than those in Castle Hill. There is not much to do here in Glenhaven and the closest mall will be Castle Towers in Castle Hill. This suburb is rather inconvenient and if you work in the city, you have to give yourself plenty of time to commute during peak hours as the roads here get very congested.
