Goodchap Rd, Chatswood West, NSW 2067

Goodchap rd goes from the busy Mowbray road artery up to Eddie rd. One side of the road is composed of Strata buildings 2-3 story high. On the other side there are only houses. Perhaps because of this, you don't really get to know the neighbours too well. People living on units tend to be younger couples and those on houses are from a different income level and are family oriented.

Either from a unit or a house you will more than likely have generous views of the Lane Cove park, Olympic park and in clear days even the blue mountains. The summer sunsets here are absolutely amazing. Several bush walking & cycling tracks are nearby and even walking on the neighbourhood is enough to fill your energies after a full day's work. The neighbourhood is also serviced by 2 public schools.

This street is pretty much a haven for young couples like myself who are looking for some peace and quiet but still wanting to be close to the major shopping amenities of the Chatswood CBD.

It tends to be a bit noisy in the morning between 7.30am and 9.00am and 4.30-5.30pm on weekdays and 9.30am-11am on Saturdays when many drivers enter the street coming from Mowbray rd to avoid the traffic jam at Pacific Highway. Other than this, you won't hear anything at all on the times of the day or night. (Except the eventual drunk coming from the Great Northern Hotel Pub - but they disperse pretty quickly).

The only two things I find bad about this street are:
a) The 10 minutes unpleaseant walk to Chatswood station via Pacific Highway sidewalk.
b) The wind. It blows pretty heavily here and we never managed to maintain a decent garden on our balcony for any long.
