Our street is the most special, hidden away oasis you are ever likely to find. We are tucked away with 2 ends on our cul-de-sac and the only noise that you ever hear is that of the birds and the wind blowing through the trees. It is like living in the hills. We are between 2 main roads but get neither traffic nor traffic noise and there is an acre of trees with a park bordering the street. Most, if not all of the homes are owner occupied and there is a mix of young, elderly people and families. All of the properties are closely held with many people having lived here for over 20 - 30 years. Everyone is so happy with our beautiful and well kept environment; so much so that no-one wants to sell up and leave. It is a very safe street and there are many people around during the day, so eveyone keeps an eye out for anything strange or out of the ordinary. There are many trees and we mostly have beautiful gardens and a lot of the old growth native trees have been left when the homes were being built. Even though our street is situated where it is like living in the bush, we have a bus service approximately 2 minutes walk in 2 different locations and the train station is a couple of kms down the road. We are 17 kms from the city and it is easily reached via some main arteries and via the Mitchell Freeway. There is a major shopping centre within a km and within walking distance and the Woodvale, Kingsley, Karrinyup and Innaloo shopping centres are within easy reach. It is just a 5 - 10 minute Drive down Hepburn Avenue and you will arrive at the beach at Hillarys. We are 10 kms from Joondalup and Wanneroo. Compared to many really expensive suburbs in Perth, Kingsley, and in particular, our street, is excellent value for money and even though the values on Goollelal Drive, which is next street to this one, across the park, and the house values are somewhere near or over the million k mark for several of those houses, that street is noisier and a main thoroughfare. Our street is very sociable and each year we have a street party with all of the neighbours and we are an eclectic bunch comprising people from all walks of life from blue collar to professional. Many people from out of the area and within the area know our street really well and choose to walk with their dogs and families because it is so beautiful. Where else can you go to exercise your dog where there is an acre of trees within a minute's walk and an excellent open park with playground equipment for the children to play on? Our street is simply the best! I have lived here for 16 months after buying my home nearly 3 years ago and I think that I have scored gold. The tenants who occupied my home prior to me occupying it, said that it was the most peaceful place in which they had ever lived and one of them was a nurse working night shift. I want to stay here forever.
