The Cygnet River is the largest river on Kangaroo Island.

- The forest consists of stringybark and southern blue gum eucalyptus with an impressive understory of tall Kangaroo Island Yacca grass trees and banksias interspersed with over 100 species of native plants including over 25 native orchid species.
- Over 65 bird species have been recorded, notably endangered Black Cockatoos, Stone Curlews, nesting Wedge-tailed eagles and the impressive K.I Crimson Rosella.
- The forest is rich in rare native mammals (7 species) including a rare albino Echidna (see attached images) and reports. As such the property is formally part of an on-going wildlife survey program in collaboration with project partners: Landscape SA K.I, Zoo SA, National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Kangaroo Island Land and Wildlife (KILfW) and Trees for Life (TEL), see attached reports. The survey uses motion cameras.
- The property is ideally located on KI with the famous Flinders Chase National Park & Wilderness are only 5 km away and the stunning Snelling's Beach a direct drive 15min away, as in the central town of Parndana.

- Winter flowing creek traverses the property from west to east
