Reviews of Hyde Street, Mount Lawley

"Inner city lifestyle, family family"

Hyde Street is an eclectic mix. Some renovated homes, some new homes, some homes that need to be renovated and a couple that should be bulldozed! Hyde Park at one end and Forrest Park at the other. Hyde Street is situated between the Mount Lawley and North Perth coffee strips. Depending on what part of Hyde Street you are in, it is a 5-10 minute walk into Northbridge and a 15-20 minute walk into the city. Please note I say walk and not drive. You can drive into the city in peak hour in 7 minutes. Two Catholic schools and Highgate Primary School within walking distance. Falls into the catchment area for Mt Lawley Senior High School. One 24 hour chemist and one 24 hour supermarket in Mt Lawley, numerous boutiques and restaurants including the highly regarded Jacksons and Must Wine Bar. A stones throw from The Queens and the Brisbane Hotels but far enough away not to have to deal with noise problems, rowdy clientele or parking difficulties. Many young families now living in the area so good trick or treating opportunities and Christmas carolling as well as other kids to play with which is not common in many inner city areas.
