Karvella Street, Upper Kedron, QLD 4055

Great street, very friendly - mainly families so lots of kids playing in the street in the afternoon. Lots of bushland around, which brings in the bird life (cockatoos, galahs, corellas, rosellas, magpies, wrens, willy wagtails etc). Late at night we have seen possums, rabbits and even the odd wallaby around the suburb. It is a very quiet location with no traffic noise although if the wind blows the right direction you can sometimes hear the Ferny Grove train. Close to St Andrews private school and within 5 mins of state schools at Ferny Grove. Good access to childcare centres and local shopping within 4km at Ferny Grove and Keperra. The Keperra Shopping Centre has a few fast food places (pizzahut, subway, hungry jack's, noodle box and a couple of good cafes (litse lounge is great, pepper & salt is OK). If you like bushland and hinterland then Brisbane Forest Park and Bunya Forest are very accessible. Samford is 10-15 min away, Mount Glorious is a 30 min trip. There are a number of nice cafes in Samford. If you like beaches then maybe this is not the place for you. Karvella Street is close to a number of paths, walkways and parks. There is a great walking circuit along Kedron Brook and a large park with a playscape along Cemetary Road. Karvella Street also has its own park with the usual play equipment. I work at St Lucia and the commute takes 60 min by public transport, 30 min in off peak traffic and 40-50 min in peak hour. Train to the city takes 30 min.
