ALSO, The Katonah Chamber of Commerce will hold seasonal fairs - merchants close off the streets and there is music and activities. There is the very popular Annual Fireman's Parade which begins the Carnival at The Firehouse which runs through the weekend. People turn out on their Victorain Porches and celebrate in style with their family and friends. There is The Annual Tree Lighting at St. Luke's in December complete with a Menorrah lighting and choirs, solists and bell ringers - there is also hot chocolate and cookies offered at the Church grounds..Right now I am enjoying the Town of Bedford Pools and Parks - gorgeous pool settings and free concerts

Yes, I agree - I seem to spend my life between the two! Plus do not forget the John Jay Homestead smack in the middle of our Museum Mile. Spend a great Saturday at The Farmers Market there from 9-1. The House Museum is now also open for paid tours on the hour during market hours.
Want to do something simpler aka Norman Rockwell's America? Then just stroll in the town in and out of the unique shops, get a coffee, or an ice cream and have a great meal in one of our restaurants. 85 Buildings were moved in the 1890's to make room for the NYC reservoir system so pick up a brochure for a walking tour at the Library and other spots and while in the Library - see the exhibit on The Great Katonah Move - yes they lived in their homes as they were being moved - pulled by horse and mule on shaved trees - you will see a photo with wash out on a closthesline, there was once a wedding and school children would have to search the line of the moving houses upon their return from school. Oh yes, and go say hi to Tina the Turtle in The Children's Room!

I am a big fan of the Katonah Museum of Art. We visited a few months ago to see the exhibit of picture book art of New York City- it was excellent! Though my daughter was more interested in the kids' room. They had a ton of materials and she had a great time. It's a very small museum, which I like because it's not overwhelming and you can see everything without feeling rushed.

Take a stroll through the lovely village, poke around the cute shops and grab some great coffee at Noka Joes on Katonah Ave. For those seeking some artistic and cultural nourishment, head on over to the wonderful Katonah Museum which hosts almost a dozen fantastic exhibitions annualy. Another must-do is an outdoor concert on the spectacular grounds of Caramoor Center for Music and Arts. You won't regret it. It is downright enchanting.
