Reviews of Koolaman Street, Joslin

"A green oasis, all you hear are the birds."

Koolaman St is named after a wooden container used by Aboriginals, usually spelt 'coolemon". The street was developed in the 1940s, so many of the houses date from that time. A few were built during WW 11, and are / were classic misery period: small, stone frontage, solid but boring. A few are much later additions, there are brick veneers from the 50s, and there is one 'popular mechanics' monostrosity built just a few years ago.Of course, given the location, many houses have been renovated and have large additions: many of the blocks are large, so there is room for additions, pools, courts, etc. The street runs along to meet the River Torrens Linear Park, and a handfull on the northern side actualy have direct frontage to the linear park at the rear. The street itself is a bit ordinary, the street trees are a mixture, mainly queensland box, which are not particularly attractive and they drop millions of seed capsules, which are like marbles to walk on.
Koolaman is very handy to just about everything and within walking distance of the city, along the linear park. Houses don't change hands that often and when they do the price is 'very healthy' if you are selling.
