Reviews of Little Grey Street, St Kilda

"Skankiest Street in Melbourne"

I have the only residential apartment that fronts Little Grey Street that isn't a halfway house or rehabilitation facility.

The only people who knows it even exists are the Garbos (who often arrive at 4am), the Hookers (who are usually yelling and cursing until 4am), and the drunks (who use my front wall as a toilet at all hours).

Then there is the noisy gate underneath the Medina hotel which screeches its path 24 hours a day.

And the hard rubbish. Everyone for miles around uses Little Grey Street as their dumping ground for hard rubbish, despite the fact that for the few years I have lived there there has not been one single council arranged regular hard rubbish collection so that I may dispose of my hard rubbish.

And the junkies shooting up downstairs. And their syringes. Oh joy! And the broken bottles.

You wouldn't walk down Little Grey Street alone in the dark. You wouldn't walk down alone in the day if you were female.

Someone stole a flatmate's front wheel off his bike which was locked up in the cage at the front. They couldn't steal the whole bike, so they just ripped off the front wheel.

The guy over the road continues to have his dog use the front of my place as a toilet.

The noise is loud and constant on Little Grey Street. All hours of the day. Which made me feel so loved that the last time I had a party one of my neighbours called the cops at 11pm to complain about the noise! WTF???

I love Little Grey Street.

Hi ragarms,

WOW! What a great review. I have a mate who lives on Fitzroy street right next door to the cinemas, and his doorway smells like urine 24/7. He doesn't have the same problem with junkies though? I know there are a lot of homeless people in the area, in fact I almost got beat up by one of them just walking down Fitzroy ST.

Why don't you move? Doesn't sound too inviting. I know I couldn't live in that area just because of all the clubbers on a Friday and Sat night walking around.

hey Raygarms, that's actually quite a generous score for such a bad street! But I suppose the hookers and junkies need good mobile phone reception to talk to their pimps and dealers...

Why are you still living there? It sounds like hell...

Ragarms

You see, despite all its failings it's a great spot and a really cool apartment.

Look at the ratings... for such a crap street it's close to everything and quality of life is great, save the quality of life issues! ;)

Sometimes I just wish I had an Ouzi!

Interesting to see what you will put up with for location and closeness to clubs\beach\restaurants. You are a braver person than me.

I think the only thing that would persuade me to live there IS an ouzi 9millimeterrrr (in an arnold voice of course)

you got on the front page Ragarms!!

Once again I was on Fitzroy Street on the weekend....wow that's one scummy street. Shame it affects others surrounding like yours.

I walked down little grey st to the dentist in broad daylight by accident. (Thanks google maps.) and the whole place feels off and scary, it was dark cold and silent , it feels like a place alot of negative things have happened. Even though I only saw one person, a tradesman wheeling a bin. Needless to say when I left the dentist I stuck to the main road instead.
