Out of primary schools - Ludmilla, Nightcliff, Parap, Stuart Park - how do these rate?

Desktop research is great but nothing beats getting a feel for each individual school. I had heard so many good things about Larrakeyah, we based ourselves at Cullen Bay sight unseen (due to Covid, we were not able to do any 'in person tours'). Well, their preschool was full and turned my child away. My older child got into Transition. Everywhere else was full (& the daycares in the CBD are not very nice anyway). The private schools were full too. In the end,Ludmilla offered us an out of zone spot and it is so so so nice! Real grass, huge area, lovely kids & teachers. Meanwhile Larrakeyah seemed a bit... competitive, pushy, stressful. That's Transition :( We are considering pulling my son out and transferring to Ludmilla. I would also strongly consider Parap PS, it seems more rounded, more sporty.

As an ex-Primary School teacher here in Darwin (Now a Real Estate Agent) the best information source in my opinion is the website www.myschool.edu.au. This site will provide you with a school profile, staffing, finances, academic profile and much more. My boys attend Larrakeyah Primary School which I believe rates very highly in my opinion.
Kind regards, Matt Englund_Ray White Real Estate Darwin.
