"Riverside sanctuary"

I’ve been here with my young family for more than a decade - and the only way we move, is further in. Once you live here, it’s hard to live anywhere else. There is an air of modesty yet exclusivity. It’s one way in and one out at out and surrounded by water. If they cut the main road, the whole suburb could still survive, we’ve got everything we need and more.

"Oh what a feeling, Lugarno!"

Close knit, friendly community that care about the suburb and each other. Alot of families, working professionals and retirees that have lived in the suburb for many years. Very green and leafy with a lot of walking and bush tracks. Great access to waterfront with Marina and seafood restaurant and a number of recreational and sporting facilities. No highrise developments. Very peaceful!

"Brilliant location"

I've been fortunate to enter Lugarno back in 2004 - lived in Elm street, yes I know lucky for me no bad dreams only nice living.

Lugarno is certainly a great family area I've raised my two girls here and they have thrived. Totally safe suburb where walking and running is a regular occurrence at night, people feel safe and I have to admit not locking my front door for years.

With a couple of great parks in the area my girls were always exploring them, we had many picnics with the kids on the playground.

The shops have what U need, IGA, Post office, great deli, morning breakfast, new bar opening up for cocktails, good burger bar, and of course Lugarno Seafood one of the best seafood restaurants in Sydney.

House prices have gone up but so has everywhere you'll need around 1.4m to get anything half decent, but it's worth it.

May locals are now good friends we often have BBQs, parties, and social gatherings. Some awesome kids birthday parties to boot that have evolved now into 21s etc.

"Small tranquil suburb on the George’s River"

We moved to Lugarno 2 years ago to start our family, beautiful houses, no apartments, great little village vibe. Close to the M5 can’t wait until the new tunnels come online later this year. Amazing this place is so close to Sydney!

"Underrated by Sydney home buyers"

It's in close proximity to the major shopping centres in Riverwood and Menai and made all the more convenient with the Georges River straddling its shore. Green and leafy environment adds overall sense of tranquility, augmented by the fact that few cars pass through this area, particularly the south near the river.

"Friendly suburb, tranquil water and green leafy spaces"

I have lived in Lugarno for over 20 years. The local school is a gem, the cafe's are wonderful and the neighbours are friendly. There is a local shopping village with all the necessities, cafe's, deli, hairdressers, butcher, restaurants, beauty salon, IGA, chemist, news agency, dry cleaners, fish and chip shop ,wine bar and pool shop. There are a few churches and the bowling club is an easy walk away. There are regular buses but a car is preferable to get you either to the airport train line or the Illawarra Line then only 30 mins approx to the city, 20 minutes to the beach. There are magnificent bush track walks, lovely local parks complete with playing fields and a tranquil dam with ducks and wildlife. The area is very dog friendly (on and off leash areas and times). Lugarno is known as being a leafy green suburb and it's wonderful to be part of this community.

"Beautiful gem of a neighbourhood- sydney's best kept secret!"

We moved to Lugarno from the inner west when I was pregnant eight years ago, and I'm so glad we did. Set on a peninsula, the suburb is quiet, the neighbours friendly, the parks and river picturesque and there are plenty of cool cafes and little wine bars springing up so you don't need to wander for miles if you want great food or a drink. For all of the above, good schools and it's proximity to the CBD + three train stations nearby (Riverwood, Oatley, Mortdale) and then quick access onto the M5 motorway, I think property here is really undervalued even despite the recent boom. I think it's only a matter of time before it really takes off when sydneysiders discover they can get alot more for their money, it has great amenities and walkability and you aren't stuck in traffic all the time to get anywhere per the inner west and north side suburbs. A gem!

"Sydney's Best Kept Secret"

As a resident of Lugarno for the past 12 years, I can certainly tell you that it's a beautiful place to live. The suburb enjoys glorious views of the river (and all it's adjoining inlets), has beautiful parks and scenery all around, and has an unrepeatable village atmosphere that rivals inner city living. Lugarno offers a peaceful lifestyle that escapes the rat-race of the city, yet is within easy reach of public transport and only a 30 min drive to the CBD. There is practically no crime, no pollution and the area offers great tranquillity with lush greenery all around.

Lugarno offers a variety of housing including a small selection of villas and townhouse, waterfront apartments, small suburban cottages, large family homes & multi-million dollar luxury waterfronts. Over the past few years the area has undergone change as the original settlers of the suburb have moved on and new younger families are moving in. As a result, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on renovations and new builds that both complement the area and have boosted the appearance of the beautiful leafy streets.

Overall Lugarno is a fantastic place to live and serves as a great investment for your future.

"Leafy, quiet and great for young families"

I have lived here for 5 years and love the peaceful lifestyle. It is not too far from the city but far enough to feel as though you are out of it and nice to relax here on the weekend. It is a place where I want to raise my son with a backyard he can play in and parks nearby. It has a village feel and my only wish is that more nice restaurants and shops would open up in the area.
