"The quiet achiever"

Not many know about Lynwood but it's very well serviced with excellent schools and public transport and really close to two great shopping precincts- Carousel and Riverton Forum. For those who like to get out and close to nature, Canning River runs through it so there a great walks to enjoy.

"A little gem"

Lynwood is a great neighbourhood, friendly people, great primary school, great secondary school, Lynwood shopping centre had recently been renovated, the IGA and the little restaurants around the area are awesome too. Coles or Woolworths are only 2 mins away and these are nearly brand new, along with Big W and some other really good shops. Riverton Leisureplex is good fun and around the corner too and the huge Carousel is 7mins away, but also far enough not to be bothered by the traffic and the crowds. This area truly is a hidden gem!

"It's a starter suburb, that's all, don't aim to stay folks..."

Born here and moved out sixteen years later, it's a poor suburb but with a great primary school. It was majority pommie new arrivals in the 1970s with those moving on to the outskirts in the 1980s, with next generation migrants replacing the first wave. Facilities are run down, local shopping centre just depressing with even more depressing Carousel a few km away. If you can't afford Willetton, or even Ferndale, then Lynwood is for you. High school is a rough one, but that's all the more reason to work hard and get outta Lynwood. The best thing about Lynwood, without question... is it ain't Langford..! But it's right next door.

"Great suburb"

Hardly anyone knows where Lynwood is, as it’s quite small, but I think it’s a hidden gem. Close to the city, large blocks, good schools, quiet, and some great properties backing onto bannister creek. Good shopping at riverton forum and Cannington carousel. Lived here for 4 years now, in two different streets. Wouldn’t live anywhere else.

"No go"

I lived here approx 2 years ago so this review may be outdated.
This suburb is reasonably close to the city but access to the freeway is time consuming.
Air traffic over the suburb was horrendous.
The local shop is run down and expensive. The closest woolies and coles are in Riverton.
There was an amazing tavern here for a while with cheap drinks, food and live music. It was knocked down 6 mo after I moved in and replaced with a new housing development.
Be very careful where you move to as even the nicer parts are backed onto by dodgy areas. Barking dogs and parents screaming at their children were common.
I did not feel safe here at night.

"Brilliant lynwood"

My young family and I have lived here for two years now and I wish we moved here earlier. Our kids go to the local primary school which is pretty much new and couldn't be happier. The school is fresh, professional, safe and very much progressive and on the rise.
Spoilt for shopping options with RIverton stock land 2mins down high rd and Westfield carousel 2mins the other way.lynwood village has a supa iga, chemist, newsagent, post office and more including a top little fish and chip shop which everyone loves. The best cafe strip in perth Victoria park is 5mins away the city is 10mins away.Lynwood is so close to everything.
But what I love is the parks, the little creek which runs through lynwood with paths and little bridges all the way down until you hit canning river only 1k away.the playgrounds are great including the whopping new one on the creek bridge at Iveston st.
House prices have risen dramatically due to people obviously getting word about the area, size of the blocks and their potential.on the schemes of the market though still reasonably affordable and you will get a lot moe bang for your buck.
I couldn't recommend lynwood enough,it's an amazing spot and hidden out of the way of the rat race yet so close to everything.so quiet and relaxing.
Awesome for younger families especially!!!
