For any of you who lives in Macleay Island.....

If we move to Macleay, we will have park the car at Redland Bay for commuting and buy another vehicle for the island. I heard that finding a secure parking space is hard at Redland ferry terminal. How is Macleay residents who commute to the mainland handle parking issues?

I do this commute 5 days a week. At first I just found 12 hour parking zones, where the boat trailers park and in longer term (7 days) dirt car parks in Weinem Creek area and never had a problem. Now I buy a car spot from a private provider within easy walking distance of the ferry - many of these available which has taken the having to search out of the daily routine.

I am told there is a 2 or 3 year waiting list for the council secure car park. However the entire Redland Bay Marina area now looks like a huge parking zone as residents cash in by allowing parking on their properties. Unsecured parking is available but it's a bit of a hike.
