Looking for a home in Margaret River?

"visit to redgate"

Redgate is great if you like to surf on the beach and the country but for me its ok because there are caves to visit but I its just to far away from everything.

"are you a millionaire? if not, don't bother visiting"

it lures you in with all the hype, and then there isn't much going for it.
most people visiting actually believe that it's on the beach!
good place if you have a spare million in your pocket.
people on an average salary get greeted by petrol twenty cents higher than perth as they drive into town. all eateries are overpriced and aimed at the wealthy. the tav is the only place where you still get a decent size meal for reasonable price.
very little to do if you have kids and it is raining. btw, it sure does rain! about 6 months of the year.
rents are obcene, and over summer it's nearly impossible to find a rental.
most seasonal workers end up sharing houses with up to ten others.
the unlucky locals that don't own a house are being driven out of the place, as margaret river tries to emulate byron bay and fails miserably.
surf? if you are a beginner forget it. if you love huge powerful dumpers and want to share them with a packload of wannabe's and a few true locals, then it's your cuppa tea.

This comment says more about the person who wrote it and is totally detached from the wonderful reality of Margaret River. Clearly something has upset the author and this is the child within spitting its dummy out. Smile my friend....you're alive !!

"Beautiful freinedly rural town! True tree/dea change"

I love Margaret River. I have lived here for 16 years. I find it to be a friendly town with lots to do if you love a rural, outdoors lifestyle. You can crab in Busso, fish up and down the coast, bushwalk, snorkel, dive, swim at top beaches...but you can also do the cafe strip and get most of your retail therapy needs met! If not Bunbury is only 1 hour away.

There are some lovely parks for the kids and a number of schools to choose from.

Overall a great place to live!

Rentals in Margaret River

"Not much in the way of a town"

Witchcliffe is just south of Margaret River on the Bussell Highway. The town has a small population of around 400 and is well known for its wineries. The area is basically a southern suburb of Margaret River as such has only minimal facilities listed. For all medical attention Margaret River has the medical centres and hospital. There are numerous schools in the area and again have Margaret River addresses but are in close proximity to Witchcliffe. There is a service station here for fuel supplies, a post office and several specialty shops selling convenience items. Many visitors come to Witchcliffe to see the caves and this area has over 40 of them and those people wishing to stay overnight in the area can stay at one of the B&B’s in Witchcliffe. The town is also important to the Bureau of Meteorology as the climate is measured here and weather patterns passed on the Margaret River. The town is growing slowly and there is not much in the way of real estate here but might be worth watching for the future.
