Marian Street, Leederville, WA 6007

This street is very old and has houses from the turn of the last century and the area is zoned for preservation. You can only build new houses to your own design if they meet the council's specification. They want to preserve the atmosphere of the streetscape and new designs are not really welcome, although some exceptions are allowed. The street is very close to the cafe and shopping precinct and it is nice to walk around and see all of the old houses and it is really easy to get into the city. It is a good place to live if you are a business person or need to have quick access to the city. Good for singles and couples but not so good for families although there are happy families in the street. The houses are very expensive now to buy. Sometimes there are strange people wandering around and the food shopping isn't so great. but Innaloo Shopping Centre and Mount Hawthorn aren't far away. The freeway is really close and access to the city is easy. There is quite a turnover of properties although some people have been in the street for many years. It is a nice street in which to live.
