Reviews of Marsden Road, Carlingford
"Central location, easy access to everywhere, great feeling"
My wife and I have lived in Carlingford for over 10 years and have lived on Marsden Road for over 8 years.
The road itself has become quite busy and whilst we live back from the road onto the reserve, during peak times getting in and out can be problematic. We hope that one day this road will be "calmed" but until then, we put up with it.
Carlingford itself is a lovely area. We have always felt 100% safe, walking at night up to the local restaurants and shops without a bother. People in the area are friendly and polite, and even though we have our fair share of youngsters in the area, they don't seem to be any trouble.
The area is also steeped in history, growing from a rural heritage that can be found today if you look hard enough. Highly recommend living here.

"Highly recommended area to live in"
Absolutely a great place to live in. We moved in to Carlingford as a young family. All three of our kids go to the Carlingford public school which is quite good. School also has before & after school care on its premises for working families.
Carlingford shopping centre has all major stores, Coles, Wollies, Target etc. If you fancy Asian food or shopping, then Carlingford Village which is next to the shopping centre is the right place to be.
The Carlingford Medical centre is good too but has recently stopped bulk billing (for adults) but there are other GP’s in the area who bulk bill. Good dentist available in the Village as well.
Most importantly negligible crime rate and we enjoy our walks to the shopping centres & other amenities. Oh yes, a swimming pool & fitness centre is also available in the shopping centre if that takes your fancy.
Many a good restaurants in the area and usual suspects like McDonalds, Pizza Hut & Dominos present too. Some good parks around which have soccer games for kids & little athletics as well.
If you drive to work towards Parramatta or any Western suburbs then you travel against the traffic, which in itself is great. Epping, North Ryde is not too far as well. Downside, well being in the centre & close to most industrial parks in North West of Sydney the traffic can be quite noticeable during peak hours. Lately though RTA has disallowed B Double (?) trucks from using Marsden road.
If you live backing on to the reserve then you get fantastic views to Homebush bay & Parramatta city with no building in sights. There is also absolutely no road noise if you live backing to the reserve but same cannot be said for houses which are on Marsden road itself.
City commuting can be tedious but then from which area is it not? Train option is available but it would be so much better if they join the Parramatta Epping rail link.
The best selective school in NSW, James Ruse Agricultural High School which has been ranked as the top secondary school of the state for the past decade is in Carlingford. Prominent private schools such as Kings & American International schools are in the area too.
Absolutely recommended
