Dog walking beaches in Melbourne

I am currently trying to put a list together of all the dog friendly beaches in Melbourne. If anyone knows of any which I have missed which I haven't come across. Tell me! as I would love to visit the beach with my dog.

St Kilda Beach West Beach
The new extension to the St Kilda Marina helps provide this beach with plenty of dog friendly sand for it to run around on.

Brighton Dog Beach
Brighton beach is a chance for dogs of all shapes and sizes (and their owners too!) to enjoy the views this beach has to offer.

Altona dog beach
The calm waters this beach has to offer are ideal for any dog that wants to dip their paws in.

Sandridge Beach
A short drive from the centre of Melbourne will get you to this beach. With great views of Port Phillip Bay and a BBQ area. perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon

Are you wanting to let your dog off the leash?
I have seen lots of dogs at Elwood Beach as well, but I believe it is a dog beach only in the mornings over the summer season.

Some more info around restrictions etc provided by the council here:

Another option if you are not close to the beach but want somewhere your dog can exercise freely is designated fenced dog parks.
Some that I know of are:

Clayton Reserve
Macaulay Road, North Melbourne
(03) 9658 9658

Princes Park
Hawthorn Road and Bambra Roads, Caulfield South
(03) 9524 3333

Ruffey Lake Park
King Street, Doncaster
Very popular as the dogs can enjoy the lake.

I like to take my pup for a stroll along Edithvale beach, there are always lots of friendly dogs around on the weekend to run and play with. However, from November to April dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10am off leash and after 7:30pm on leash. In winter dogs have to be on a leash between 11am and 3pm, but are welcome on the beach at anytime. Parkdale beach is also a really nice walk too!

Hampton beach is also a lovely stretch of sand along the bay, there's a specific area where dogs are allowed off leash year round down past the Hampton Yacht Club.
