Distance in km from Melton to Melbourne?

Hello all.. I am moving to australia with my australian husband, and I al looking for houses everywhere.. Today I found lots of houses, new houses in melton, good price rent, but I dont know the area and ,would I be far from public transportation, f or too far from melbourne downtown? P.s.. my husband left australia when he was a kid so he can't help me very much LOL

It is approx. 45km from the city. It is 30 mins from the city, however if you are travelling in peak hour in can take longer than an hour and parking in town can be a problem and expensive.
The train service is V-Line, it runs approx. hourly and is usually a better option.

Melton is 45km from Melbourne...i live in Melton and it is 30mins drive from Melton to Melbourne CBD...my partner travels by train to Melbourne CBD and it takes him about 50mins...

It is 43km from the city of Melbourne. There is a train station which is part of the country network. The trains stop there going both to and from the city between every 45-60 minutes. The station is located in Melton South and there are buses that run to and from there. Travel time into the city by train takes approximately 1/2 an hour.
