"Every Moment you are not working, you are on holidays!"

Narrabeen has been a part of my life from day one. It has my playground and then my business location. I still love to swim in the Ocean Pool at North Narrabeen, paddle on the lake and ride around the parks in my spare time. Some areas on Narrabeen have become very expensive and for the right reasons because of the lifestyle, it presents including views and waterfronts. Narrabeen has something like 67% of waterfronts in Sydney where you can actually walk out your back yard onto the sand or into the lagoon areas. We know have a constant flock of BLACK SWANS nestled and living on the LAGOON PLUS THEY FEED CLOSE TO SHORE NOW FOR EVERYONE TO WATCH.
There are many parks and reserves around the area which are linked by walking and bike paths which take you through the natural bush surroundings. you can walk around and over the Marine Reserves and climb the Headlands around the area to view the Ocean and Lagoon. The local Surf clubs have beautiful views and cafes to enjoy. I am fortunate to work for LJ Hooker Narrabeen and be apart of this wonderful community in so many ways. it is a pleasure to help and assist everybody wanting to be apart of this sensational Suburb.

"North Narrabeen - Paradise"

North Narrabeen has the untouched feel of paradise about it. Little pockets of houses that are tucked away and still has allot of the old beach holiday cottages which is great to see. One side is the ocean and the other side is Narrabeen Lake which when the tides runs in you jump at the ocean end and float around. Just magical and so clean on the run in tide.

Beautiful headland walks through the bush and most days you come across no one.

Shops, hospitals, are all close with some great restaurants. CBD is 25 kms and Manly is 15 min drive. Forget the car on the northern beaches, grab your bike and get healthy. Government buses run often into the city and in peak hour is every 5 to 10 mins. But they are government buses and can be expensive.

Love this place. It can get very busy during school holidays with the caravan park which is fully booked each year with the same familiar faces.

"Live where you'd like to go on holiday"

The only real negative to Narrabeen is that Pittwater Rd bisects it. Imagine dredging a culvert through paradise!! That's the effect.

As long as you live a block or more away from Pittwater Rd, Narrabeen is just heavenly. On one side, you have the Pacific Ocean with unbroken, uncrowded sand from North Narrabeen to Collaroy, surely one of the world's best beaches completely open to the public. On the other side, you have the peaceful Narrabeen Lagoon with its stretches of waterside parks and barbecue areas. (Bring some breadcrumbs for the ducks.)

The suburb has excellent schools, good restaurants (Bliss and Nokaew Thai are inexpensive standouts), a reasonable Woolies, a prize-winning butcher, the best fish shop on the Northern beaches and several above average cafes. If you're not addicted to sand and sun, the area also has many great golf courses, including the BEST public access links course in Sydney, Long Reef.

Narrabeen is connected to North Sydney and the CBD by the mediocre and expensive gov't bus service, so it's a suburb where having a car is a necessity. (That's the story of the Northern beaches really.)

The suburb is gradually being taken over by 2 to 3 storey units, but most blocks are well constructed and relatively tasteful. Areas like Ocean Street and the couple of blocks close to the rear of Narrabeen Lakes Public School are in high demand.

"Narrabeen - Surfin city"

Narrabeen is a suburb of Sydney 23 kilometres north of the CBD in the local government area of the Warringah but still considered to be in the Northern beaches district of Sydney.

Bounded on the north by North Narrabeen and Warriewood, the east by the Pacific Ocean, the south by Cromer, Collaroy Plateau and Collaroy and to the west by Belrose. The population in 2006 was 6364 with 13% under 18 and 32% over 60.

The northern end of Narrabeen Beach is often used for surfing competitions. It is also the breeding ground for many Australian surfing champions. The waves are famous for their varying behaviour depending on the lake's outflow, the tide and the swell. Some well known configurations are known as Carpark Rights and Alley rights. The latter referring to the Alleyway – a rip known as The Alley which provides an easy ride out.

In December 2007 human remains were discovered by workmen excavating for a bus shelter. Upon further investigation the remains were discovered to be those of an Aboriginal male who had been speared to death 4000 years ago. He was called the "Narrabeen Man" and he is reported to be reburied in nearby Kuringai National park in 2008.

Surfin city it sure is
