"Beautiful Country Town"

Northampton is a quiet, peaceful town. With a population of around 1000, the community spirit is strong. Is very historic, used to be many mines, now farms (wheat, sheep, cows). 2 schools, large supermarket, and small shops. Gets very very hot in summer (over 40 degrees nearly every day!!!) with the occasional summer thunderstorms, and winters are very cold and rainy. A very hilly place, close to beaches (20km) The city of Geraldton (50km) and Perth (450km) LOVE this town!!! Will visit again soon!

"The people of Northhampton are the best"

I only lived in Northampton for three years but found it to be the most friendly place. The locals made you feel so welcome, that you would think you had been brought up there. If you want to join any group there are a number of groups in the community, eg history, quilting, community paper and more. Geraldton just down the road, Horrocks and Port Gregory north east, a little further and you can do Kalbarri in a day trip. Picnics are a great treat in the cooler months with lots of history in the surrounding areas. Can be a bit warm in the summer but does the winter weather make up for that, beautiful sunny days with crisp cool mornings.

Sport is close to number one for everyone in Northampton whether you play or watch. There is a number of sports in the town for everyone from 6 to 96. Plenty of drinking holes for the thirsty, but be aware the police are top notch in this small community and know all. Well may I suggest that you go and have a look for yourself, you will see what I mean.

"Very friendly, community minded town."

Northampton is only 22kms from Horrocks on the coast and is North West of Geraldton, 51 kms away. Northampton is 475 km from Perth. As well as being in the wheat belt Northampton is also known for its sheep. Although a relatively small town Northampton has everything you could need including petrol stations for all your fuel supplies, a supermarket with ATM, pharmacy, Post Office, medical centre and Hospital as well as other allied health professionals whether they full time or on a visiting roster. The town has both state and Catholic schools from primary right through secondary school and provides a multitude of sporting activities for both young and old. Many people who live here and enjoy the water travel to nearby Horrocks or other nearby coastal towns where in addition to the water also have great beachside parks and provide barbeques and picnic areas. Other interests may include the garden club CWA and a large quilters association. Golf is very popular as is tennis, bowls, netball, cricket and basketball. Both Qantas and Virgin fly into Northampton and Sky West fly to Geraldton where you can pick us a TransWA coach. Real estate is still affordable for most.
