Reviews of Nullamanna Road, Camp Mountain

"great location"

We own a house in this street and love to visit. It is only 20 minutes from our residence in Brisbane city and when we are out there on the weekend it is very peaceful with beautiful views of the mountains and many wonderful native birds and animals.

It is a place where the neighbours are as friendly as they are in most suburbs with many of them at work during the week. It is not a country town - where everyone knows absolutely everyone's business - thank goodness for that! But most people know enough to keep an eye out for intruders.

The land is not fabulous for livestock, with the beginning of the road being very much Australian scrub land however with some effort and knowledge of pasture improvement this can be managed. Water is achievable if a bore is placed in the ground and anyone with some understanding of small acreage management would have no problem in making their property look great when the drier months are about. Like any acreage you need to put in a bit of effort out doors to get a great result!

Overall the location is great! being only a short trip to the local shops and a 20 minute drive into Brisbane city center. The local horse trails start on this street and the pony club is only a short ride away as is the soccor club and the local school.

You can be as involved with the local community as you wish with the local pump magazine listing all the local clubs and volunteer organisations.

Perhaps one improvement would be to establish some sort of adult learning centre in the community possibly at the local school of an evening offering a variety of interest subjects for the people who want to meet other locals but also want to learn - (like the U3A?) but of course this depends on demand.

Goodluck to anyone who is considering this area and we hope you grow to love it as we have over the few short years we have had property there!

"Suburban Life in the Bush"

The traffic of Samford Road echoes onto your property, you are close to your neighbor in distance but not in feelings, bat's and possums eat any and all fruit plants in your yard. This place has lot's of bush, but it is dry. There is nothing nearby, Nothing. Overall its a half-decent street however it's noisy, dry and gray, bleak in winter and hot in summer. Just the other day I went for a drive along Nullamanna Road, during my 10 minute drive to the end and back of the street I came across 3 ducklings crossing the road, but it was short lived. Within seconds a local neighbor comes speeding along almost squishing the ducks. I then ventured on to find that several of my old neighbor's had their houses for sale. When everyone's selling you know there's a reason. There may be no escaping the suburban life. However there is no escaping the country life either. When a draft picks up it Smells. There are noisy animals in the morning and noisy traffic at night. Hoons rev their charged up Toyota and Mitsubishi's at 11:00 O'clock at night. It is a general Low-Maintenance area and the properties show that. I would recommend this street for a retired couple who can't hear or for singles who are looking for a place to sleep at night.
