"A lovely town with all your needs within 5 minutes"
IGA and Foodworks underpin a commercial centre that allows you buy all your needs without parking hassles or travel.
its closer to Toowoomba's North Centre and West than some parts of Tooowomba on double lane highway.
Has 3 mega employers with small businesses galore and the commercial activity will only grow as Toowoomba creeps westwards and the Charlton Centre / Wellcamp airport expands.
Good schools and sporting clubs.
Great for
- All the benefits of living near Toowoomba without the cost or hassle.

- People from Toowoomba look down their noses when you mention Oakey; Frankly they wouldn't know!

Oakey is a great small town with everything you need - great Supa IGA supermarket, Foodworks, Fuel, Post, Restaurants, Cafes, Newsagent, Hairdressers, Primary and High Schools, Parks and friendly locals.
For anything that isn't available in Oakey, Toowoomba is a short 20 minute drive away!
Great lifestyle for singles, families, retirees.

Everywhere is crime ridden. Australia is no where near as bad as the big cities in the USA. Live anywhere overseas and youll know that most of Australia is paradise.
Your comments sound more like a local real estate agent and no town is suited for every type of person. Upon visiting this town I found no transport available eg: buses or trains, over $50 for a cab fare to Toowoomba, so I imagine that to live in this town you would have to own a car or have access to one.So, if you would be elderley I can not imagine living in this town unless you had imediate family. This is why after consideration Toowoomba was a much better option for value for money when it came to facilities.
