"Good suburb for family"

Our family moved to Plumpton in the middle of 2023 and we're really glad we did! It's our first home, and it's a great place for families like ours. there's everything nearby: big stores like IKEA, Bunnings, and Costco just a short 10-minute drive away at Marsden Park, and it's easy to get onto the M7 and M4 roads. Westfield just a few minutes away, which is super handy. Nuragningy park is one of the best park in Western sydeney.Plumpton is a mix of different cultures, which we really like. We had also heard people saying not-so-great things about this area including Mt Druitt and Rootyhill, but honestly, we haven't had any issues. We often take our kid to play at Mt Druitt Westfield, we go to Rootyhill train station for city commute and it's been all good vibes. So yeah, Plumpton's been a really cool place for us!

"Affordable, Desirable Family Friendly Suburb"

As A local Agent that sells many homes and deals with many people that both have lived and want to live in the Plumpton neighborhood feedback is always positive,

from friendly neighbor's next door to the locality and how convenient the suburb is being close to Plumpton Marketplace, Mt Druitt CBD, The newly built Emerton Village And Eastern Creek Quarter mixed with the affordability compared to other Sydney suburbs on the rise a hidden gem is definitely a great way to word what Plumpton is to the local community

"A hidden gem of a suburb"

Plumpton is a very spaced out and quite suburb where you would expect to relax and disperse all the stress and tiredness accumulated after a long day of work or over the weekend. The neighbourhood is friendly and so quite that its a pleasure to lie on the bed and keep listening to the birds because of all the trees and not many vehicles to disturb them.

It’s a relief that the houses constructed here are so much better than the ones that are being built in the new suburbs which have very less plot size and hence less in space inside the houses. Due to less space, the rooms are lesser in size than actually required. The quality of houses here is also so much better than the ones in other established suburbs mainly due to very responsible and hard working people here who tend to their gardens regularly.

Now, coming to the connectivity. The M7 right beside the suburb is a boon to the people who want to drive to the city or want to connect to the north or North western suburbs(very quickly) and also a fairly quick drive to drive to the south or southwestern suburbs. The new Western Sydney airport being established is just a 20 min drive which is going to be just amazing for us families here! . Not to mention, we have our own Plumpton Marketplace, which many people from Penrith till Blacktown drive a long way to make use of due to Woolies, BigW and lot of shops and restaurants and cafes!. As a bonus, you can also reach the Sydney Business Park (Marsden Park) housing shopping warehouses such as Costco, Ikea, Bunnings, Home complex(Having a lot of shops) the complete list which you can see while driving into the park in 5 to 10 minutes from Plumpton!. The revamp of Rooty hill train station is a blessing to commuters who want to park their car int he newly developed parking complex and take a ride. This train station is again a 5 minute drive from Plumpton. If you need to visit a big mall for cinemas and hundreds of shops, cafes, outlets, restaurants , you have the Westfield Mall which is again 5-10 min from the suburb.

We have a wide selection of public and private schools over here to choose from. Private schools like Richard Johnson Anglican School has a good and competitive rating compared to other overpriced suburbs in the nsw schools comparison website. This school is also setting up its sister branch in Marsden Park.

Just loving this suburb every minute and inwardly being thankful that I have not paid a ridiculous amount of money for a smaller and couped up independent house complexes which are common in the new suburbs ( Know this having visited a numerous amount of my friends houses there)
At the end of the of the day, driving back home and looking at the houses around with their comfy lights on and neighbours enjoying quiet evening beer, I feel really happy that I made this decision to move here!

"Quite and Nice suburb to bring up your children"

I find it very very convenient as M7 is right next to commute to my office is 10 mins which is great. Plumpton market place is so close by and all your basic needs will be met here. Also as an added bonus Marsden park Business park is close by and we get to visit Costco every week. All other stores are just right there!, I believe in fact people in Marsden park face a lot of traffic to exit out of Ellara to come out but from Plumpton since its the opposite way its so quick and easy.

Coming to neighborhood , I like everything about it. People are warm and welcoming and keep themselves. I will be soo happy to come out and take the car for a drive as I find very less traffic! There are some great childcare centers like Children first, Good start and schools like Richard Johnson etc. and I would say i couldn't ask for more!!!

Parks like Bungarribee, Nurragingy Resrve is right next and few other nature reserves are great here too which is a added bonus!

At last, I want to say one thing houses are way better looking, Build with Brick and really big than those old, shabby houses or the tiny townhouses build in so called very good suburbs!

Quiet suburban area with everything you need. Great suburb to raise a family. Local shops available, parks and a lake, schools (private, public - primary and high school. No train station but buses available and arrive frequently. Houses have big backyard as well as front yard. Friendly neighbourhood and community. Lived here for 22 years and never experienced any violence

Rentals in Plumpton

"Quiet place and multi cultural"

Plumpton

Lived there for a couple of months in 2017. It is very clean, quiet and mainly has single and double storey well kept homes. It has a popular catholic school which is close to a public school and a private school. They are all close to the shopping centre. The centre has a woolies, Big W, cafés, KFC, Maccas etc which can be quite busy on the weekends so go early to get a good parking spot. There's a taxi rank at the centre. My suggestion with the centre is to avoid the medical centre (check reviews online) and try the new one at Marsden Park. It's worth the commute. Everything else at the shopping centre is great.

Plumpton is serviced by several buses to nearby train stations of Rooty Hill, Mount Druitt and Blacktown. There's quick access to the motorway. I haven't had any issues with traffic as I wasn't driving but I hear there can be some build up sometimes during peak hours.

Plumpton may not be entirely green and leafy but it has a park where locals hold birthdays, picnics etc

I didn't hear of any negative incidences while there and my friends and I could safely use public transport any time of day or night.

If looking for a public school it's best to avoid the ones in Mount Druitt. It's also advisable, if your kids are using public transport, to ensure they are not travelling with kids from schools with low values and poor discipline.

Plumpton is a great place to raise kids. It's main downside is you may need to travel further to find work and the commute to the city is quite long. Everything else is great!!
