looking at Moving to Port Douglas or somewhere near by
My Hubby kids & I just spent 9 Beautiful nights in Port Douglas at the Ramada & absolutely fell in love with the place :)
We are thinking of making the move from Sydney but we are unsure of the best places to live other than in port Douglas we are just hoping for some insight on what's best for kids and schools and also the areas not to live :)

Hi Christine - buying a property is not difficult or expensive, but if buying a unit make sure it's zoned residential or you can't live there for long periods of time. Renting is extremely difficult at present, a very low number of properties available. Even people who have jobs are ending up living in their cars. Aside from that Port Douglas is a great place to live, even the wet season is bearable compared with Darwin

Port Douglas is a great place to live and raise your family. If you want proximity to the school, supermarket, chemist and bottle shop, Reef Park is a good option and the beach is very close as well. There really isn't anywhere "bad" to live in town.
