Pyrus Court, Doveton, VIC 3177

For as long as I can remember, Doveton always had a bad reputation for being one of the most "bogan" suburbs in Melbourne. A friend suggested that we look to buy here, and I was somewhat sceptical at first; however, when I started to look at the area more closely, I couldn't see any evidence of the original stigma attached to Doveton. For the most part, people here are very house-proud. They look after their gardens very well and appear to be keeping their properties fairly well maintained, and Pyrus Court is a good example of this. Most of the neighbours here know one another on a first-name basis. There is a primary school at the top end of the court which makes it very handy for families with young children. There are local shops about five minutes' walk away for the basics when required, and it's nice to pull in and out of your driveway without having to worry about traffic, which means it's pretty good for kids playing in the street, too. My wife and I love living here and we have no plans to move anytime soon! P.S. Just for the sake of it, we had to get ourselves a pair of "Doveton Reeboks", for those who know what I mean! :)
