Reviews of Raeside Street, Westlake

"My heart belongs to Raeside Street"

From the time I could ride my bike until my University graduation Raeside Street, Westlake has been not only my home, but my life and everything important to me. The street is filled with wonderful people of all cultural backgrounds with children, laughter, fun, energy and joy. Most of the families who moved there in the early 90's are still there because it is the perfect place to be.

Raeside Street is the perfect location to all the BIG locations. It's only a 6 minute drive to the newly refurbished and amazing Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre, 15 minutes to another great shopping destination, Indooroopilly Shopping Town and then only 25 minutes to Brisbane's CBD. If you want to get out of town the connections to the Gold and Sunshine Coast's is very close by. It's only a 40 minute drive to the three big Queensland theme parks - Dreamworld, Wet'n'Wild and Movieworld. And if you want to head inland and see the hinterland you'll find yourself only 40 minutes away from tranquil countryside and rainforest.

If you're on foot whilst in Raeside Street, take advantage of the 10 minute walk to the river (following Horizon Drive and up Tennant Street) there's a great children's play park and family bike trail there too.

The local primary schools are excellent, some within walking distance; and the local Riverhills Shopping Centre has just had a $8mil Refurbishment to upgrade everything including your local Coles, Civic Video, Vet Surgery, Chemist, Butcher, Baker, Hair-salons and Restaurants.

When I look back at the street itself; I feel very proud to say that I grew up there....
- My Dad taught me to ride my bike in Raeside Street
- My Mum took me for my very first driving lesson in Raeside Street
- My Sister and I played outside in our front and back-garden there, every single Summer
- Two of my best childhood friends were made on this street and 15 years later we are still close
- I even had my first kiss on Raeside Street!
- And every year without fail the neighbouring Streets of Everad, Apanie and Baronga would light up with the spirit of Christmas! Making the evening walks during those hot summer nights that much more enjoyable. (If you're lucky enough to move there...hopefully you too will be invited to the annual Street Christmas Party where neighbours gather together to hold their own private Carols by Candlelight)

So, If you're looking for the perfect family location, or you're a couple looking to get started, look no further than Raeside Street, Westlake....
....and I'm sure you'll agree that your heart belongs to there too, just like mine.
