"gorgeous houses on nice street"

I agree with the reviews... gorgeous spot so close to the river. Are there any cafes nearby?

"Convenience with a capital 'C'"

Life in Riley Road, Claremont, Perth Western Australia could not be better, espeically for families. Located in the 'leafy' western suburbs, Riley Road is considered to be one of the best streets in one of the best suburbs of Perth. Running off Victoria Avenue its residents are only a couple of minutes walk from the beautiful Swan River. Riley Road is an ideal place to live and to bring up a family. It is so convenient to private and public schools, colleges and the University of Western Australia; public transport, parks, golf, sailing and tennis clubs, sporting ovals, several substantial retail precincts, a variety of European and Asian styled restaurants, bars and cafes with the Perth central business district only a 10 to 15 minute drive. It is no wonder that not many homes come onto the market.
Blocks are large and the substantial one and two storey homes have a sought-after north/south facing configuration. As you turn off the busy Victoria Avenue into Bay Road, you make a sharp turn into Riley Road and the world seems to slow down as you drive eastward up this lovely tree-lined street. With a variety of magnificent Australian colonial heritage homes featuring both sides, Riley Road presents as an established, peaceful street with little or no traffic.
The street is home to many families whose children attend the local public or private schools and parents are in the main professionals, doctors, lawyers, engineers and stock brokers. It is a popular street for walkers and their dogs. Early mornings and before dusk neighbours walk up and down the street enjoying the many magnificent gardens as they travel towards the river to the west or the beautfiul Masons Gardens to the east which features freshwater pools full of long-necked tortoises! Young children can feed these creatrures with special food that can be purchased from the local council offices nearby.
Weekends can be domininated by sporting activities at College Park that faces Melvista Avenue, a street parallel away from Riley Road. This park has a series of ovals that hosts many junior sports events throughout the year.
For adults, and only a few minutes drive, is the Nedlands Golf Club and the Nedlands Tennis Club. Both facilities overlooks surrounding parks and the Swan River. Down the road is the famous Royal Perth Yacht Club which hosted the victorious America's Cup winning yacht Australia II. Just round the corner is the renowned University of Western Australia.
For those looking for more intellectual pursuits there are a number of book and bridge clubs that meet in the street with the local Windsor Cinema that features popular and art-house movies only minutes away on Stirling Highway.
In all Riley Road could not be better placed for those looking for a convenient and tranquil location that is closeby to plenty of facilities.

Can you please upload some photos and videos of Perth. We always wanted to visit Perth and is still on cards. Is the housing boom still on in Perth? Which is the best place to come and stay with kids. Is the tree top walk adn wave rock are still popular? How far is Monkey Mia and Margaret river from Perth?

Eloquently put. You have written a beautiful overview of the Nedlands / Dalkeith / Claremont peninsula. Do you think Riley Road is better than other streets in the general area?
